Out-of-home care situations

Families with children in out-of-home care provide extra challenges for effective engagement. Out-of-home care may include foster care, relative/kin care or residential/group home care.

Few studies have measured the effects of different strategies for engaging with families of children in out-of-home care to support learning. This resource from the Australian Education Research Organisation offers advice for family engagement in relation to children in out-of-home care.
