Changes to Parents Victoria Constitution

Significant changes to the Parents Victoria Constitution were passed at our AGM on 11 October 2021. This will affect our membership structure. The information on this page will be updated shortly. If you are interested in becoming a Parents Victoria member, please contact our office.

Who can join?

Parents Victoria has three classes of membership:

Member club or school

Available to:

  • Any Parent Club at a Victorian government school
  • Any Victorian government school 

Individual member

You must be the parent of a child attending a Government school, which either does not have a Parent club or whose Parent Club is not a Parents Victoria member.

Associate member

(Friends of Parents Victoria)
Open to any person or organisation that supports public education and believes in the right of parents to participate in their children’s education.

Why become a member?

  • We represent the parent perspective to the Education Department, State Government, other stakeholder groups and the media. We consult regularly with our members to ensure we represent their views.
  • Members receive our monthly newsletter Parents Voice, packed with news and views of interest to parents and anyone interested in education.
  • Members receive special invitations to our events, and get substantially discounted entry to our Annual Conference.
  • For member clubs, we provide an online Toolkit with useful resources for running and maintaining your Parent Club.
  • We need your support to continue our important work in advancing parent-school partnerships, through advocacy and the provision of information.
  • As a member, you’ll have the satisfaction of being part of a dynamic and supportive organisation that’s been making a positive difference in Victorian schools since 1925.

Club/school membership

How to join

  • Parent Clubs will need to take a vote to become a Parents Victoria member. Put it on the agenda for your next meeting and make sure your members know what is involved.
  • Need more information? Contact our office, we will gladly send more information or arrange for a Parents Victoria representative to speak at your Parent Club meeting.
  • To join up, fill in our membership form (scroll down). There are print or online options. We will send an invoice that you can pass on to your school Business Manager for payment.

Membership fees

  • Small school (175 students or less): $80 per calendar year
  • Large school (more than 175 students): $135 per calendar year
  • Joining fee: $38.50
  • All fees include GST.

Page Index

  • An individual member must be the parent of a child attending a Government school which either does not have a Parent club or whose Parent Club has elected not to join Parents Victoria.
  • You will need to agree to support Parents Victoria’s  Statement of Purposes.
  • Your membership application must be approved by the PV Board.

Membership fee

The annual membership fee is $50 (including GST) per calendar year.
