Parents Voice in Government School Education

National School Reform Agreement: PV Submission

Parents Victoria made a submission to the Federal Government’s Expert Panel, set up to advise it on the National School Reform Agreement.

The submission was in response to the Panel’s Consultation Paper.

Our submission makes the following points:

  • “…it must be public first with the public purse due to the greater number of students who suffer disadvantage being enrolled in government schools.”
  • What about children who are not attending school at all, or are in out-of-home care? How are these students accounted for?
  • Family/community engagement should be a top priority, with  family engagement division within each State and Territory Department of Education, and Family Engagement / Community Liaison officers in all schools.
