Going to private school won’t make a difference to your kid’s academic scores

According to an article in The Conversation in early 2022, “A recent study showed NAPLAN scores of children who attended private schools were no different to those in public schools, after accounting for socioeconomic background.”

The article systematically analyses claims of the superiority of private school education, in Australia and internationally, and concludes that “once socioeconomic background of these students was taken into account, apparent achievement differences between school sectors were no longer present.”
