Parents Voice in Government School Education

Volunteering survey

We are well aware of the huge contribution parent volunteers make to Victorian schools. But is volunteering in decline? Recent public commentary suggests volunteering is becoming more difficult.  Parents Victoria has developed a survey that aims to identify what is working well and what factors might be impacting on parents’ ability to volunteer. We are seeking to better understand how volunteering currently works in school communities across metropolitan, regional, and rural areas.

Surveying schools and parents

In fact, there are two surveys – the first aims to get the school-side ‘big picture’ of how volunteering works at your school. This survey would be best filled in by a staff member or School Councillor.

The second survey is aimed at the parent experience – what do you do, and what are the factors that work for (and against) volunteering?

Your perspective matters—please complete the quick survey that applies to you (perhaps both) and help guide the future of volunteering in our schools.
