The Parents’ Club at Chatham Primary School is clearly doing a great job of running its program of events throughout the year, involving lots of parents and maintaining a well-organised committee structure. How do we know? It’s all on their page of the school website!
Parents – and anyone else – can see at a glance how much the school values its Parents’ Club, by the quote from principal Chris Cotching shown above, (which is right at the top of the page). and the opening paragraph:
Chatham is widely renowned for its active and engaged parent community – it’s one of the things that make us an outstanding school. Our Parents’ Club is a key part of the ‘village’ feel that’s been fostered over many years and offers a warm welcome to all families at Chatham. We pride ourselves in providing a range of fun events that strengthen the home-school partnership and sense of community.
The page also has:
- A warm welcome and invitation for parents and carers to get involved
- A list of regular events the club runs
- How parents can contribute
- Names and emails for the club’s committee
- Photos of activities and events
There’s even a link to the club’s Constitution, so parents can be assured the club is formally registered with Department of Education.
Parents’ Club President Pamela Nakiatis told us, “We knew it was important to have a presence on the website as we are a smaller school, with one of our main attractions for parents being the inclusive Chatham community and the events and activities that support it.”
Congratulations to Chatham Primary for having such a great Parents’ Club and telling the world about it via the school website!
If you’re inspired by this, there’s a page in this Toolkit about using the school website to promote your club.
