Many Parent Clubs run Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day events. The Parent Group at Oakleigh South Primary School ran one recently, with a small but significant difference – it was promoted as a Mother’s Day & Special Person Day stall. The Parent Group has recognised that not all families are the same, and re-branded its stall to make sure everyone is included, no matter what their family structure. This is a great example to all clubs – thinking in advance about how be inclusive of everyone in your school community!
