Issued by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), the SAP summary provides an official record of a student’s achievements during their senior secondary schooling.
What is the SAP summary?
The SAP summary presents a holistic strengths-based overview of a student’s achievements during their senior secondary education, complementing their Statement of Results. It has been designed to recognise the learning of students who leave school without a certificate, recording achievements such as:
- All completed VCE (including VCE Vocational Major) and VPC units
- Achievements in Vocational Education and Training (VET)
- Structured Workplace Learning Recognition (SWLR)
- Literacy and Numeracy Standards
- Credit from other jurisdictions (where applicable)
The SAP summary provides evidence of a student’s skills and achievements for potential employers and training providers, as well as recognition of partial completion of senior secondary studies.
Who is eligible?
The SAP summary is only available to VCE and VPC students who are exiting school in Year 11 or Year 12 without completing their certificate. Additionally, in order to be eligible, students must have completed a minimum number of units prior to exiting. The minimum number varies depending on the certificate in which a student is enrolled, as outlined below:
- VCE students must have satisfactorily completed at least 8 units (but not have completed the VCE)
- VPC students must have satisfactorily completed at least one unit (but not have completed the VPC)
