Parents Voice in Government School Education

Raising resilient learners in an AI world

Tips for parents from the Brookings Institution
US public policy ‘think-tank’ the Brookings Institution has published a series of Tip Sheets for parents, about how to deal with the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on their children’s education and development.
The introduction to the series sets out some of the issues:

Brookings research shows that while AI has the potential to support learning, it can also put kids’ development, safety, and autonomy at risk. Avoiding these risks requires empowering parents to help their kids manage AI use and strengthen the skills that AI can undermine.

The Tip Sheets cover issues such as:

  • When AI helps learning, and when it gets in the way
  • Losing the human touch: When AI replaces real interaction
  • Helping kids find, and trust, their own voice
  • Guarding your child’s data footprint
