PV Chief Executive Officer Gail McHardy was interviewed by Tony Jones on 3AW’s Morning Show on Monday 10 January. (Tony Jones is hosting Neil Mitchell’s program while Neil is away.)
Gail and Tony discussed the costs of sending children back to school this year, especially the costs of devices such as tablets and laptops.
Gail pointed out that Victorian government schools are required to be clear and transparent about the costs of equipment for students, and that the choices about equipment and costs are made individually by School Councils, not by the Education Department. Gail also emphasised the importance of good communication between schools and parents, and mentioned PV’s Think Wait Communicate campaign.
