Parents Victoria respectfully acknowledges the traditional owners, the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation, on whose country we work. We pay our respect to their elders past, present and future.
Their ancestral ties to country have never been extinguished, and sovereignty never ceded.

According to an article in the Age, “Victorian teachers have vowed to strike in term one next year, forcing students to miss out on class time, unless the Andrews government agrees to its demands for higher pay and lighter workloads.”
PV Chief Executive Officer Gail McHardy is quoted in the article. Gail expressed hope that both parties would bargain in good faith, “as Victorian government school families should be heading to the 2022 school year with hope and optimism. Students and their families really shouldn’t be the pawns in anyone’s game.”
You can see the AEU point of view in a campaign video the union released recently. The video points out that Victorian schools are under-funded compared to schools in other states.
